Brenda has been involved in art actively since her first oil painting lessons in her 4th grade year. She left oil painting for a few years to work in soft pastels and has since returned to the world of oil painting.

During all this time, quilting and fabric held an interest in the back of her mind. Growing up with grandmothers who spent many hours putting together quilts left an influence that made her curious as to how one could put fine art and quilting together.

Little did she know that others had already looked into that idea and that, actually, quilting is art; a very satisfying art form that brings you together with quilters from throughout history.

She has since designed and pieced many quilts of various sizes from traditional to contemporary art.

Most recently, Brenda has designed 3 quilt patterns for the Bigfork Bay Cotton Company from her original paintings. This has been the ultimate combining of art and sewing skills she has acquired through the years. Her plans are to continue to fine tune these skills because one can never learn enough.
